Profile:
American Career College has been helping people succeed for over 30 years. Founded as American College of Optics, the school was incorporated in California on January 11, 1978 and devoted exclusively to the optical dispensing profession. In 1985, the college moved to Wilshire Boulevard, and four years later relocated to its present facility in Los Angeles, California. In September 1990, the college expanded its curriculum to include the Pharmacy Technician program and changed its name to American College of Optechs. In November 2000, the Anaheim Campus opened as a branch of the Los Angeles campus. Over the next decade, the college continued to expand its curriculum to include additional specialized allied health programs. Because of the school's broader offerings, its name changed permanently to American Career College in 1993. In 2008, American Career College expanded its level of offerings to include two allied healthcare programs culminating in an Associate of Occupational Science degree: Respiratory Therapy and Surgical Technology.
